Amec Foster Wheeler is one of the few contractors with the capability to develop floating LNG facilities. We are able to do this by combining our in-house expertise for LNG liquefaction and regasification with our proven capability in floating facilities including floating production, storage and offloading vessels or ‘FPSOs
Floating LNG liquefaction
The floating liquefaction or ‘FLNG’ sector has been identified as a significant growth area for monetization of offshore gas reserves without the need for extensive onshore facilities.
Amec Foster Wheeler has undertaken a number of studies for potential FLNG projects and has developed mid-scale FLNG concepts in conjunction with a major shipbuilder. Our mid-scale FLNG concepts target both nearshore and open sea gas monetization opportunities of between 1.0 – 2.0 Mtpa.
Floating LNG regasification
Our LNG regasification capability and experience includes floating facilities or ‘FSRUs’ (floating storage, regasification and unloading vessels) and we have worked on many of these projects in locations worldwide.
We have the capability to undertake design, engineering and management of complete FSRU developments including loading and regasification equipment, vessel specification, associated onshore facilities and marine infrastructure.
