The DeSoto County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) was under pressure to improve a 5-mile road section that acted as major link between State Route 17 and State Route 31, in southern DeSoto County, Florida
The poor road conditions, including potholes, broken pavement and pavement fatigue, were due to the large trucks that frequently used the roadway. Naturally, these conditions were a safety concern. Road users pressured the BOCC to repair the roadway, in as short a timeframe as possible, to maintain this transportation link.
Our scope of work on the project involved a complete rehabilitation and widening of the roadway via milling and selective removal of pavement and base in areas exhibiting foundation failure. Working within a limited budget and a tight time frame, we was able to complete the necessary repairs and rehabilitate the roadway. We ensured that traffic could once again continue to travel on the roadway - quickly, safely and securely
