Recognition for our program
Amec Foster Wheeler is extremely proud of its stellar track record of small business utilisation, as evidenced by the national awards we have received for small business utilisation, mentoring and outreach.

U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID)
Excellence in Mentorship Award (2015)
This is an annual award given by USAID and based on the level of mentorship provided and positive impact that has resulted on the protégé firm. Amec Foster Wheeler received this award based on the nomination by our protégé firm, The Refai International Group.
Society of Military Engineers (SAME)
Large Business Award (2012)
This award is presented for outstanding small business subcontracting performance in support of DOD programs, participation in a mentor protégé program, support for the internal training of the firm’s program manager on how to involve and support small business initiatives and participation at small business conferences.
Dwight D. Eisenhower Award for Excellence (2007, 2011, 2015)
This award recognises large prime contractors that have excelled in their utilisation of small businesses as suppliers and subcontractors. Amec Foster Wheeler has received these awards based on small business utilisation reflecting maximum practicable opportunities to small business firms of all socioeconomic categories, demonstrated management support, effectiveness of the Small Business Liaison Officer, outreach efforts and participation in the mentor protégé program. Firms that have received this award within the past three years are not eligible for nomination.
Society of Military Engineers (SAME)
Industry Small Business Advocate Award (2015)
Amec Foster Wheeler’s Small Business Liaison Officer, Holly Hutson, received this award for being an outstanding spokesperson and advocate for small business with SBA, DOD agencies and other groups for outstanding contributions to SAME Small Business Conferences, training sessions and forums.

Internal recognition
Since 2005, Amec Foster Wheeler has selected an annual Small Business Advocate and a Small Business Subcontractor award recipient.

Small Business Advocate of the Year
The Small Business Advocate of the Year Award recognises an Amec Foster Wheeler employee that ensures small businesses are given an equitable opportunity to compete on our subcontracts, has exceptional small business utilisation on the contracts they manage, mentors small businesses, share their small business successes with other Amec Foster Wheeler employees and our customers, and is committed to growing our small business program.

Each winner is presented with a plaque and the Small Business Advocate is also given a cash reward.

Small Business Subcontractor of the Year
The Small Business Subcontractor of the Year Award honours a small business which we have awarded subcontracts and whose performance from a technical, schedule and administrative perspective have achieved superior results and greatly exceeded our expectations.

In 2016, Amec Foster Wheeler began a Quarterly Small Business Booster Award program. This internal initiative was put in place to recognise internal employees that go above and beyond to utilise and assist small business firms. Each winner is presented with a certificate and is able to select something from the Amec Foster Wheeler company store.
