LNG regasification


Amec Foster Wheeler has played a key role in LNG regasification facilities, also known as LNG receiving terminals, and we have worked with a wide range of customers worldwide on new terminal projects as well as expansions to existing facilities. Our capability and experience covers both traditional onshore LNG terminals and floating regasification (FSRU) developments.

Leading optimisation skills
One of our areas of particular expertise is in optimising the design of regasification terminals with other adjacent facilities such as power generation or other industrial plants. We are able to design systems to utilise waste heat from these adjoining facilities in the LNG vaporisation process - we have also studied the potential for use of 'cold energy' from LNG regasification to improve efficiency of power generation in adjacent facilities. 

Fast-track solution
We have also developed a cost-effective, fast-track solution for a nearshore regasification facility. This is a standardised,modular facility that combines features from different offshore concepts and can be used where development time needs to be minimised and where an onshore LNG terminal is not feasible.
