Optimum arrangement of the tubes within the furnaces ensures uniform heat input to each pass, avoiding thermal degradation of the product. We use Sonic Velocity rather than Critical Velocity as design criteria based on years of proven performance. This ensures higher inside coefficients, lower inside film temperatures and less chance of fouling.
We take particular care in the selection of the radiant tube size and arrangement (vertical or horizontal) to ensure a proper mixed-phase flow pattern to minimise the possibility of flow-induced vibration.
We use special layouts when two or more passes are on a wall: a nested pass arrangement achieves hydraulic symmetry and equal heat flux to each pass.
We can offer a double-fired design for the most critical applications. These advanced, trouble-free designs allow the use of higher average flux rates with the same peak flux so the radiant coil is two thirds of the length of a single-fired design. This reduced length allows higher velocities and less residence time in the radiant section, which is critical when the film temperatures are high toward the outlet.
