We were selected by the Marine Well Containment Company (MWCC), a not-for-profit independent organization with membership open to all oil & gas operators in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico (GoM), to design and deliver components for its Marine Well Containment System (MWCS).
The MWCS is being designed to enhance containment response capability to a well control incident in the GoM.
The MWCS will be specifically designed to capture hydrocarbons from a damaged well. The MWCS will capture, store and offload up to 100,000 barrels of fluid per day from a flowing well, and will handle up to 200 million standard cubic feet of natural gas per day.
It is designed to operate in deep water in a variety of GoM metocean conditions, for a range of reservoir characteristics, under a variety of well bore failure scenarios.
