When the time came for Colorado to deliver on its promise of the New Energy Economy and for Colorado State University to execute a real-life application of their research in renewable energy they called on Amec Foster Wheeler’s engineering, procurement and construction professionals.
We provided the engineering, procurement and construction services for Colorado State University’s 2MW solar field generating facility. This ground breaking project sets the standard for clean and renewable energy solutions. The project features more than 8,000 Trina Solar panels that cover fifteen acres of the university’s Foothills Campus.
In this collaborative approach between us and ReVen, we evaluated multiple technologies for the system and performed a site analysis to achieve effective land use and a cost effective installation. The project will help the state meet goals for renewable energy and kept the university’s utility rates stable and affordable during the next 20 years.
