Developing two solar plants for Duke Energy Generation

We were engaged by Recurrent Energy to provide development, engineering, procurement and construction for a 4.5 megawatt photovoltaic solar plant to be built at the project site in Ajo, Arizona. We also provided development, engineering, procurement and construction for a 15 megawatt photovoltaic solar plant that was built in Bagdad, Arizona. These two projects were both sold to Duke Energy Generation Services.

The facilities in Ajo and Bagdad will use polycrystalline solar modules and horizontal tracking technology. The facilities will be maintained by us using a SCADA network which we designed and installed. The plants also include a controls building and spare parts storage. The scope of the projects included technology selection, engineering, procurement, construction and operations and maintenance of the turnkey photovoltaic solar generating facility. We used our in-house solar expertise to optimise the systems given non-typical site constraints and created a generation profiles to optimise project returns.
