Saskatchewan Power Corporation contracted with us to provide detail design, contract analysis assistance and engineering management for the installation of the first full scale SO2 removal system at a Canadian utility and the first greenfield LIFAC sorbent injection (zero waste discharge) facility in North America.
The work was executed at SaskPower’s Shand Power Plant a 300MW coal-fired power plant in Estevan, Saskatchewan. As a result of its work on this ground breaking project, we were the recipient of the Canadian Consulting Engineering Award in 1994. The project also received the Power Plant Award from Power Magazine for it’s advanced environmental design.
